City Exclusivity Explained
City Exclusivity Explained
TT Results offers city exclusivity versus direct competitors while you’re subscribed. Here’s what that means in plain language.
The rule
If you’re an active monthly client in a city for a given niche (for example, plumbing in Springfield), we won’t take on your direct competitor in that same city at the same time.
Why we do this
Local SEO work is competitive by nature. Representing two direct rivals in the same city creates a conflict. Exclusivity keeps incentives clean: your Maps visibility is the priority in that niche/city pairing.
What “direct competitor” means
Businesses selling the same core service to the same type of customer in the same city. Edge cases (adjacent services, neighboring towns, broad service areas) get clarified before onboarding so there’s no surprise.
What exclusivity is not
- Not a lifelong lock after you cancel
- Not a claim that no competitor can rank (competitors can still work with someone else or DIY)
- Not a guarantee of #1 forever
Exclusivity is about who TT Results works with, not a promise that competitors disappear from Google.
Tied to the retainer
Exclusivity applies while you’re subscribed to the Local SEO Monthly Retainer (~$500/month), aimed at getting into the top 3 on Google / Maps and keeping you there. If the retainer ends, exclusivity ends.
Practical examples
- You’re the HVAC client for Bloomington/Normal → we don’t onboard another HVAC company there while you’re active.
- You’re a plumber in Decatur → a landscaper in Decatur is not a direct competitor; exclusivity is niche based.
- You cover multiple towns from a rural base → we’ll define the exclusivity footprint in writing before work starts.
If a competitor already holds exclusivity in your city/niche, we’ll tell you. No soft pedaling.
Questions before you sign on
Ask during Contact: your city, your niche, and whether a competitor is already an active client. We’ll answer directly.
Why exclusivity is part of the offer
You’re paying for focus. If we also optimized your direct rival down the street, you’d rightly question priorities. Exclusivity removes that conflict for the period you’re subscribed. It’s a commercial boundary, not a ranking guarantee, and we state it that way on purpose.
Confirming exclusivity in one email
Send city + niche + business name. We’ll reply whether the slot is open. If it’s taken, you won’t waste time on a pitch that can’t be delivered ethically under our exclusivity rule.
Exclusivity and neighboring cities
If you want exclusivity in Springfield and also serve nearby towns, we document the protected niche/city pairs. Adjacent markets may remain available for other clients in the same trade if they don’t violate the agreed footprint. Clarity up front prevents conflict later.
Depth: how this service shows up in a real month
Local ranking work is mostly unglamorous consistency. We check whether the Google Business Profile still matches the real world. We check whether reviews are still arriving. We check whether the website still shows the same phone number and address as the profile. We check whether a competitor has surged. Then we do the next highest impact fix, not a random task for the sake of looking busy.
If you’re on the monthly retainer (~$500/month), that loop is the product. City exclusivity versus direct competitors applies while you’re subscribed, so the competitive advice you get isn’t diluted by us also serving your rival down the street. If you’re not on retainer yet, start with a free ranking check so the first conversation is grounded in your actual Maps presence.
Depth: what “good” looks like without fake proof
Good looks like a complete, accurate profile. Good looks like customers finding a working phone number. Good looks like recent reviews that reflect real jobs. Good looks like a website that agrees with Google. Good looks like knowing which searches matter and whether you’re competing for the top 3 on those searches.
We won’t paste invented testimonials here. We won’t claim a guaranteed overnight #1. We will do the work that service businesses need for Map Pack competitiveness in Central Illinois and similar local markets, and we’ll tell you plainly when a gap is operational (answer rate, service quality) versus structural (GBP, NAP, reviews, on page).
